Charlotte Campbell, M.D.
Gastroenterologist
Dr. Charlotte Campbell grew up in Richmond, VA and then attended the University of Virginia. She graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with high honors from the Distinguished Majors Program in Human Biology in 2013. Following her undergraduate training, she continued her studies in Charlottesville and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2017. She then pursued internal medicine residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. She completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Wake Forest Baptist Health and was honored to serve as Chief Fellow prior to her graduation in 2023. She will be joining GSI primarily at the Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Campbell is thrilled to be able to return to serve her home region. She has experience managing a variety of gastrointestinal diseases, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease, cirrhosis, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, swallowing difficulties, GI motility disorders, and irritable bowel syndrome. She hopes to increase awareness about and improve access to routine colorectal cancer screening.
Outside of the office, Dr. Campbell enjoys running, hiking, walking her dog, and spending time with her nephews and family.

Dr. Campell is Top Notch in her clinical endeavor delivery of my treatment & her wonderful staff provided me with White Glove Service from door to door…I was grumpy & cranky as can be expected from not eating twenty four hours prior to my procedure & was up most of the previous night beforehand having to clear my internal personal plumbing with a “purging” gallon of lemon aide flavored gasoline, so I was not all that “Cheery, Bright Eyed & Bushy Tailed.”
All that was handled with helpful light humor from both parties & the show went on like clockwork.
I Would highly recommend Dr. Campbell & her delightful support team for any prospective patient requiring her excellent chosen craft.

Dr. Campbell is simply amazing. I was a nervous nelly before my procedure and she took all of the fears away!! So glad I found her. She's got the best bedside manner.

This was my first visit with Dr. Campbell. She did not keep me waiting an exorbitant amount of time. She asked questions and actually listened to my answers. She had read my chart and was familiar with it so when I asked a question about a specific concern I had about a test she was able to explain it to me and definitely alleviated some of my concern. I was very impressed with that. I would highly recommend her to anyone I care about. So glad I am now her patient.
